When encountering error messages, unexpected behavior, or bugs, providing screenshots from developer tools greatly assists the PS Team in identifying and resolving the issue efficiently.
1- Developer Tool
- Go to the web page where you can observe the issue.
- Open your browser's developer tools - you can open the developer tools by pressing. Command+Option+J (Mac) or Control+Shift+J (Windows, Linux), or searching for them directly from the browser (e.g. in Chrome click on the three-dots button > More Tools > Developer Tools).
- Reproduce the bug (e.g. in most cases, you will just have to reload the video, which shows an unexpected behavior). So go to your browser, open the developer tool first and then f.e. play the video.
- In the developer tools, open the "Network" tab.
- Scroll down the rows until you find one (or more) red row(s).
- Select the row and make a screenshot of the "headers" tab. Please click on the red highlighted error, so we can see the header section and details about this error.
- Repeat these steps for all red rows and all web pages, where you spotted an unexpected behavior.
- Attach the screenshot(s) to the ticket, so that we can investigate the issue. Please make sure that you clicked on the error, we are able to see the headers section.
2- HAR File
When investigating issues, the team may require a HAR file for analysis. To obtain this file, users should follow the steps outlined in Step 1. Once the necessary data is collected, users must export the HAR file and send it to the PS Team for further review.
To export the file, you need to click the export button in the developer tool, like in the attached screenshot. Please share it in the ticket.
