Objective
To have an overview of the hosting and the traffic used in your account and see how that use is distributed among the groups of your VideoManager Pro account.
NOTE
The division in groups refers to the ownership group of the videos. For example. the storage usage of the group "Marketing" refers to the sum of the length (in minutes) of all videos that belong to the group "Marketing". Click here if you wish to know more about ownership groups.
Hosting
Hosting is the sum of required storage of all videos of your account (or all videos that belong to a specific group). Every admin can get an overview on the hosting data on their account any time.
Step-by-step guide how to get a hosting overview of your account:
1. Log in to your VideoManger Pro account.
2. Go to Administration area.
3. On the left side navigation, click on "Account".
4. You will see the hosting usage (in minutes and GB) on your contingent. On the bottom of the page, the distribution of the hosting usage among the groups of your VideoManager Pro account is displayed.
Traffic
All VideoManager Pro admins can export a traffic report for their account.
The traffic report data is divided per group in your VideoManager Pro account.
This means that you will get the sum of traffic data generated by all videos that belong to each ownership group of your VideoManager Pro. The information is displayed per day for the time range you selected.
Step-by-step guide: How to get a traffic report on a specific time range
1. Log in to your VideoManger Pro.
2. Go to Administration area.
3. On the left menu, click on "Account"
NOTE On the Account overview, you can get the monthly traffic "Quota" of your account and the current monthly usage as well as the capacity purchased.
4. On "TRAFFIC CSV EXPORT" tab, click on the calendar icon and select the relevant time range.
5. Click on Export button.
6. The report is then exported in .csv format and is ready for download.
7. When you open the traffic data report, there could be some incorect data. For example, instead of traffic data in number format you can receive words like this:
8- To avoid this, open a black Excel Sheet and import the traffic data report. To do it, click on 'data' in the blank Excel, then click on 'Get Data', you will see this:
You should choose text/csv and select the report you created using VMPro. Then all the data will be imported and you will see the correct data. You can send it to customer.
Automatic Hosting and Traffic Report
It is also possible to have the hosting and traffic report sent automatically at the end of each month.
Step-by-step guide to Set an automatic Hosting and Traffic Report:
1. Log in to your VideoManger Pro.
2. Go to the Administration area.
3. On the left menu, click on "Notifications"
4. Click on the "+ Create" button.
5. Click on the "Event" drop-down menu and select "Monthly Report".
6. On the "Action" drop-down menu, leave the standard setting "Send E-mail to Address".
NOTE
You can set a notification for many other events (e.g. video upload) and receive different kinds of notifications. Click here for more information.
7. Click on the "Notification Language" drop-down menu and select your preferred language.
8. Click on the "Create" button.
In the central area, you will now see the rule you created.
9. In the right navigation sidemenu, enter the desired recipient email address and click on the checkmark symbol.
10. Finally, click on "activate".
You will see a pop-up notification, confirming that the new rule has been successfully activated.
At the end of each month, you will get a report containing the following information:
- Monthly Traffic Quota and Usage (in GB).
- Storage Quota and Usage (in minutes).
- Usage of Video Storage and Traffic per Group.
