HOW-TO Track Plays within movingimage Analytics

Requirements

Objective

Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires user consent for web tracking, player data will not be collected unless consent management has been enabled.

So, if no Consent banner is shown to the user or no consent dialog is linked to the player via API, no data will be tracked by default.

Following steps should be fulfilled for tracking plays effectively within movingimage Analytics.

1.Consent Banner and User Consent:

If you are not using a Consent Banner with your players, which is why tracking is automatically stopped. Before you can start tracking plays within Analytics, the first step is to implement a consent dialog.

The consent dialog seeks permission from your viewers to track their activities.Only when the user explicitly gives consent for tracking can Analytics proceed with monitoring video plays.

To set up the consent dialog, head to the "Player Generator" and navigate to the "Additional Settings" section. Here, you'll find the option to enable the "Tracking Consent Dialogue."
