I cannot delete the "Unternehmen"/Company/First Group in my VideoManager Pro

Problem

I can't delete the default Unternehmen group in VideoManagerPro

Solution

The "Unternehmen"/Company/main group is the default group of your VideoManager Pro account. It cannot be deleted but only renamed. The "Unternehmen"/main group must contain all users present in your VideoManager Pro account. Follow the steps below to make the "Unternehmen" group just a "container" for all users without ownership rights. 

WARNING:

Before using this workaround, ensure that

- No videos are assigned to your "Unternehmen"/Company/main group. Find out how to change the ownership group of a video here.

- No channels are assigned to "Unternehmen"/Company/main group. Find out how to change the ownership group of a channel here.

The "Unternehmen"/Company/main group will remain the default group of your VideoManager Pro account. Whenever a video is not uploaded from a particular channel, it will be assigned to the default group.

For this reason, ensure that users select a channel before uploading a video. The video will then be automatically assigned to the ownership group of that channel.

- Step 1 - Create a "no-rights" role

Since all users must be in the Unternehmen/main group, if you don't wish that your users have any rights by default, you will to create a new role with no rights.

• Navigate to the administration area of your account.
• In the left side menu, click on "Roles".
• Click on "Create" button.

• A pop-up window will appear. Enter a role name (e.g. "No rights").
• By default, a new role contains no rights. Therefore, the newly created role will not contain any rights. This means that users with only that role in a group cannot see the videos belonging to that ownership group.

- Step 2 - Assign the new role with no rights to all users in "Unternehmen"/main group

• From the Administration area, click on "Groups" on the left menu.
• Click on "Unternehmen" (or the name of your main group, if "Unternehmen" has been renamed).
• Assign the first user in the list the new "No rights" role.
• Confirm this action by clicking on the tick symbol.
• Delete the other(s) role(s) the user has.
• Repeat this procedure for all users.

Note: Whenever a new user is added into your VideoManager Pro, the admins should add them directly with the role "no rights" in the Unternehmen group. More information can be found here.
